CAT 2024 notification will be published in July 2024. Eligible candidates can apply for the CAT 2024 Examination for Admission on the IIMs and other Institutes through the valid CAT 2024 Score Card. The CAT 2024 examination will be organized in the last week of November 2024.

CAT 2024 Examination Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, with a minimum of 50% for general and 45% for reserved categories. Final-year students are eligible to apply. There is no age limit, and the program is open to Indian and foreign nationals.

Age limit: There is no age limit specified for appearing in the CAT exam.
Citizenship: Indian nationals, as well as foreign nationals, are eligible to apply for CAT.

Once you have filled out the application form and uploaded all the required documents, you need to make the payment online to complete the registration process. CAT 2024 Selection Process

The CAT selection process consists of multiple stages, particularly for admission into top-tier business schools like the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). Here’s an overview of the CAT selection process:

CAT Syllabus 2024 

The CAT syllabus covers three main areas: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). VARC tests language skills and comprehension, DILR assesses analytical and logical reasoning abilities, and QA evaluates mathematical proficiency in arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.

CAT 2024 Admit Card

To obtain the CAT (Common Admission Test) admit card, you must follow these steps: 

  1. Visit the official CAT website.
  2. Log in with your credentials.
  3. Download and print your admit card.
  4. Verify all details for accuracy.
  5. Bring the printed admit card and a valid ID to the exam.

CAT 2024 Result

After completing the CAT exam, the results are usually announced in January of the following year. Candidates can check their results on the official CAT website by logging in with their credentials. The result typically includes the overall percentile score as well as the sectional percentile scores for each section of the exam. Additionally, candidates may receive a percentile rank via SMS on their registered mobile numbers. Candidates need to follow these steps to download the CAT 2024 Result:

  2. Look for the “CAT Result” or similar link on the homepage.
  3. Click on the link to proceed to the result page.
  4. Log in using your CAT user ID and password.
  5. Once logged in, your CAT result will be displayed on the screen.
  6. Check your overall percentile score as well as sectional percentile scores for each section.
  7. Download or take a printout of the result for future reference.

CAT 2024 Exam Pattern

The CAT exam typically consists of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). It lasts for 2 hours, with around 76 to 81 questions in total. Each section has a duration of approximately 40 minutes. The questions are primarily Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with some non-MCQs. Marks are awarded for correct answers, with a penalty for incorrect MCQ responses.

CAT 2024 Examination Centre

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is scheduled to be held on November 24, 2024, in more than 155 cities across India. You will receive your admit card a few weeks before the exam, which will contain the name and location of your assigned exam center.
