Khadya Sathi Scheme is a popular Food Security Scheme in West Bengal which Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee started on December 2016.
The Khadya Sathi Scheme has the main aim to ensure that no person in need in West Bengal is deprived of access to food grains. The program’s slogan is “Food for all.” In West Bengal, there are over 8.89 crore PDS beneficiaries, including 6.01 crore beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (AAY & PHH) and approximately 2.88 crore beneficiaries under the Rajya Khadya Suraksha Yojana (RKSY – 1 and RKSY – 2). Every month, we distribute approximately 5 LMT food grains free of charge to all PDS beneficiaries.
